History

The Hong Kong Association for Infant Mental Health Limited (HKAIMH) was established in December 2014 as a company limited by guarantee in Hong Kong. The Founders of the Association are a group of professionals, which include clinical psychologists, educational psychologist, psychiatrists, pediatricians, occupational therapist, and psychiatric nurse. They are all clinicians working directly with infants/young children and their families in the daily clinical practice.

The Association was granted exemption from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance as a charity institution in January 2015. The financial management of the Association mainly relies on the membership fee and the sponsorships from various Foundations.

Our Missions

  1. To promote infant mental health knowledge among related professions and the general public

  2. To facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among professionals working with young children and their families

  3. To advance the standard of teaching, training and practice of infant mental health in Hong Kong

  4. To encourage high standard research in infant mental health  

  5. To act as an advocate for the socioemotional and cognitive well-being of infants and young children 

  6. To link with international associations for infant mental health 

Our Work Plan

  1. To disseminate public education through media such as the internet, publication of pamphlets, column writing, etc. 

  2. To hold in-house training, including commissioned training, regular study groups, case sharing and etc.

  3. To organise professional training to medical and allied health professionals, child care service workers, and other child-related workers/ professionals.
